In 2010, the official year of biodiversity, The European Union launched the campaign We are all in this together, aimed at raising awareness of the world’s complex ecosystem among leaders and citizens. A teaser campaign involved spraying sentences and images under trees. Next we created an artwork with different species and animals that filled the Nieuwmarkt in Amsterdam. A fake crime scene was created, and schoolchildren were handed little templates of animals and invited to draw their own images with chalk. The event attracted a lot of press and was later repeated in different European cities. Ultimately, the whole Biodiversity campaign was honoured with the European Excellence Award.

Ogilvy PR honoured with European Excellence Award for EU campaign on biodiversity.
Amsterdam, Dec 20, 2010 – Ogilvy Public Relations has been awarded the European Excellence Award for the Best ecology and environment campaign with the pan-European integrated campaign called ‘Biodiversity. We are all in this together’, a campaign that GreenGraffiti® was part of. The campaign was developed for the European Commission’s Directorate-General for the Environment and events took place in the following cities: Amsterdam, Madrid, Bucharest, Milan, Sofia, Warsaw and Brussels.
