The grandfather of the modern reverse graffiti movement is Englishman Paul Curtis, aka “Moose”.
While standing in a dirt-covered tunnels in Leeds, England, the idea of reverse graffiti came to him. No paint. No defacing. Moose created his form of art by cleaning - removing the dirt so that nothing else but a “green graffiti” remained. The first recognised reverse graffiti campaign was carried out on 14th April 2008, in San Francisco. Here you can watch a video about The Reverse Graffiti Project:
